Mission

Adaptation Community is a platform supporting global climate change adaptation efforts. Launched in 2013, it serves as a knowledge hub for practitioners, experts and policymakers from around the world. At its core, the platform addresses the complex challenges associated with climate change by providing practical, innovative solutions and methodologies across the adaptation cycle, from risk analyses to Monitoring and Evaluation.

Topics include, among others, agriculture, biodiversity, urban planning and economics of adaptation. These solutions build on the work of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH within the framework of German Development Cooperation, and have been developed in collaboration with implementing partners. They reflect extensive experience with adaptation measures in many developing countries around the world. Thus, Adaptation Community offers a unique blend of expertise and practical insights.

The organization has no registered commitments.

The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
