Mission

大船渡市(おおふなとし)は、岩手県南部の太平洋沿岸地域に所在する都市である。

2011年(平成23年)3月11日に発生した東日本大震災では市域に大津波が襲来、各所に甚大な被害が生じた。

Ōfunato is a city located in Iwate Prefecture, Japan.

Ōfunato hit the headlines again when it was heavily damaged in the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami.The wave was estimated to have reached 23.6 meters in height.

The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
