USA: FEMA releases draft National Disaster Recovery Framework
The Department of Homeland Security's (DHS) Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), in coordination with the inter agency Long Term Disaster Recovery Working Group, has drafted the National Disaster Recovery Framework in order to address challenges that may arise during the disaster recovery process.
The comment period will begin next week, when the report will be posted to the Federal Register, until 26 February 2010.
The Department stressed that the teport has been based on suggestions from several stakeholders including all levels of government, the private sector, academic and emergency management communities, voluntary and non-profit organizations, and a wide array of associations and organizations.
