Uganda's disaster preparedness policy commended

The Ugandan Government has been commended for having developed a vital and unique rural infrastructure, including communication services to better prepare for and manage disasters.

“Uganda’s Universal Service Fund is such an initiative that has helped the country to cope with disaster management,” said Dr. Cosmas Zavazava, head of Least Developed Countries, Small Island Developing States and Emergency Telecommunications Division.
