Taiwan: Preparing for all typhoons as if they were Morakot

Typhoon Morakot caused devastation in Taiwan early August this year, causing flooding and landslides, not seen for over 50 years, which killed nearly 700 people and left thousands homeless.

"The disaster prevention measures this time will be used for reference in preparations against future typhoons," said President Ma Ying-jeou of Taiwan.
