We are always proud to realise goals with our clients!

Satellite data from the SAWIDRA project is currently being distributed by our FarEarth software to countries in Southern Africa, Kenya, Meteo France, the Deutchse Wetterdienst (DWD) and USA from the UKMET Met Office. Meteo France will further distribute the data to Northern Africa and data will soon reach Western African countries via Kenya.

The Satellite and Weather Information for Disaster Resilience in Africa (SAWIDRA) project, implemented by the African Centre of Meteorological Applications for Development (ACMAD), aims to improve the weather forecast and product production capacity in Africa to provide input for risk reduction and issuing of early warnings. A key output was the establishment of a network of ground stations to acquire direct broadcast weather satellite data.

Pinkmatter provided the FarEarth software to control demodulators and antennas, download, process, archive and distribute the satellite data.

The stations were established in Niger, Kenya, Gabon and South-Africa.
