Tabuk City – With its latest capability inventory on disaster preparedness, the province is ready for the forthcoming typhoon months.

Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (PDRRMC) Coordinator Eric Salidao reported that the Provincial Disaster Action Center (PAC) has stand-by equipments, trained disaster response teams and established protocol for effective disaster response action.

The provincial government had acquired equipments needed in the evacuation and transport of families in cases of floods and heavy landslides, which could also be used to penetrate isolated affected areas to bring relief items like food and medicines.

The province’s disaster action protocol has also been set from the PDRRMC to the municipal MDRRMC down to the barangay level.

The Provincial Local Government Operations Office has acted in the revitalization of local disaster action bodies down to the various barangays of the province for effective response and coordination before, during and after the disaster.

As support, DRRMCs are backed-up by trained volunteer disaster actions teams from the private sector in the province.

In a recent briefing, Gov. Jocel C. Baac called on all sectors to be part of the province’s disaster preparedness and response operation reminding that preparedness is still the best position in mitigating the effects of calamities.
