EU and ASEAN to work together to prevent and respond to disasters

Kristalina Georgieva, the European Union commissioner for humanitarian aid and crisis response, visited Jakarta Monday and announced an agreement between the European Union and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). According to Voice of America, she said the EU hopes to help Southeast Asia reduce its vulnerability to losses in future disasters and to learn from its experience.
