CGHA calls for contributions to develop the annual training program and for participation in the design and implementation of international projects

UNESCO Chair on Coastal Geo-Hazard Analysis (CGHA) invites scientists and researchers from universities and research institutes in public and private sectors to participate in the development of the annual training program, as well as participation in the design and implementation of international projects in the framework of PhD projects and postdoctoral collaborations on the subject of the activities of the UNESCO Chair on CGHA.

UNESCO Chair on Coastal Geo-Hazard Analysis and Research Institute for Earth Sciences welcomes all researchers and those interested in participating in the non-commercial scientific network within the framework of UNESCO's ethical goals and missions in achieving equal access to education, knowledge and technology beyond geographical, religious and gender segregation.

Dear Scientists and Researchers,

The real focus of skills in the UNESCO Chair at CGHA, hosted by the Research Institute for Earth Science (RIES) which is affiliated by Geological Survey of Iran (GSI), brings together relevant professionals from universities, research institutes, as well as public and private research organizations, with the aim of public convergence, transfer, sharing and localization of knowledge.

Through the diverse approaches of a large scientific networking, the CGHA Chair covers the whole range of research for which the ultimate goal is the improved understanding, training, monitoring and prevention of the natural hazard in onshore and off shore as well.

The main sectors of the chair are composed of scientific councils on an international scale and an executive council on a national scale.

Description of the tasks expected from the Scientific Council, strategic policies, spiritual and facilities support, convergence and integration of international powerity in the academic, educational and research sectors in line with UNESCO missions. Description of the expected tasks of the Executive Council and its specialized sub- committees with the following titles: International Relations; Education, liaison with UNESCO universities, research centers and chairs; Publishers; Data center, catalogs and websites and subcommittee for research on the implementation of policies approved by the Scientific Council, internal and external networking, attracting spiritual and material support, management and executive support based on the subject and mission of each subcommittee, compiling an annual training calendar And periodic reports are in line with UNESCO standards. So after this long introduction, CGHA Chair would like to invite and encourage all of the Scientists and Researchers while announcing the readiness for scientific participation in holding specialized training workshops and presenting periodic lectures, to define the subject, determine the proposal and assign the PhD and Post Doc. Projects within the framework of the network activities expected from the UNESCO chair in Iran or beyond it.

While announcing readiness for scientific participation in international projects, In addition to providing visa facility RIES is ready to support needed logistic and accommodation for all the proposed co-project in Coastal Hazard Assessment: (Paleosesmology, Sub-aqua paleoseismology, Paleoclimitology, Geo-archaeology by using deep machine learning ....) which will be held in Iranian territory.

It should be noted that the provision of all or part of the funding required for such studies can be interpreted in terms of alignment, citing the provisions of the 2015 Paris Climate Change Agreement (COP 21)and the Glasgow Conference in 2021(COP 26).

Also to help better evaluate the performance of the UNESCO Chair, Would be appreciated also for mentioning "UNESCO Chair on Coastal Geo-Hazard Analysis, Tehran- Iran" as one of the your affiliation in all the type of your publication.

Those interested in cooperation are invited to submit an official letter of introduction from the university or research Institutes, the proposed proposal, including the necessary approvals to provide the projected costs of the project implementation with their CV to uchair.cgha@ries.ac.ir.

As mentioned earlier, it should be recalled that the Research Institute for Earth Sciences stands ready to support the provision of necessary visa facilities, logistics and accommodation for all co-projects accepted to operate in Iran.
