Call for applications - World Risk Poll Global Grants

Source(s): Lloyd's Register Foundation

The World Risk Poll is the first global study of public understanding and experiences of risk. The survey includes 140,000 individual interviews carried out by Gallup in 142 countries.

The World Risk Poll data will be openly available from 6 October 2020.  Analysis alongside other data will increase the scope of the findings and we will award two grants totalling up to £400k for research combining the WRP with other data sources.

Registration deadline: 28th July

Application deadline: 19th August

We’re also offering free access to Gallup’s World Poll data, one of the largest annual surveys of what the world’s seven billion citizens think, feel and want. Lloyd’s Register Foundation is making four data licences for the World Poll available to academic or NGO researchers for analysis related to risk reduction and safety.

The licence will give you access to nearly 14 years of international data from 160 countries, covering the some of the most important issues worldwide, such as satisfaction with basic services, confidence in national institutions, employment, leadership performance and various aspects of well-being.

This will allow researchers and policy makers to compare data from the Gallup World Poll alongside data from the Lloyd’s Register Foundation World Risk Poll.  Having these two global data sets side by side offers an unparalleled opportunity to design effective interventions that close the gap between public perception and reality of risk – and ultimately to lead to a safer world.
