土木学会　Japan Society of Civil Engineers (JSCE)

Mission

台風が常襲し、地震が多発する、我が国の厳しい自然条件下で、これら自然災害から人の暮らしを守り、社会・経済活動を支える基盤をつくるとともに、良質な生活空間を実現するため、土木技術はその中心的な役割を果たしています。この土木技術を学問として体系的に支えているのが土木工学です。
土木学会は、1914年11月に社団法人として設立され、2011年4月には公益社団法人に移行しました。
国内有数の工学系団体である土木学会は、「土木工学の進歩および土木事業の発達ならびに土木技術者の資質向上を図り、もって学術文化の進展と社会の発展に寄与する」ことを目指し、さまざまな活動を展開しています。

Japan Society of Civil Engineers (JSCE) was established as an incorporated association in 1914 entrusted with the mission to contribute to the advancement of scientific culture by promoting the field of civil engineering and the expansion of civil engineering activities. Since its establishment, JSCE has endeavored to achieve the above mission, through extensive activities including scientific exchange among members, researchers / promotion of science and technologies relating to the field of civil engineering, social involvement, etc.
