Third lead author's meeting: IPCC report on 'Managing the risks of extreme events & disasters to advance climate change adaptation

The World Meterological Organization (WMO) is hosting the Third Lead Authors Meeting in Geneva, Switzerland, 25-28 October 2010. The Vietnam National University, Hanoi, with financial support from the Government of Norway, hosted the Second Lead Authors Meeting in Hanoi, Vietnam, 22-25 March 2010. The Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute hosted the First Lead Authors Meeting in Panama City, Panama, 9-12 November 2009. As is IPCC practice, only Coordinating Lead Authors and Lead Authors attend the first two meetings, with Review Editors joining the process just prior to the Expert Review. All writing team members also attend the Fourth Lead Authors Meeting, which will be held in Gold Coast, Australia (16-19 May 2011).
