The Maldives due to its geographical location is vulnerable to various hazards.
UNISDR and SEEDS is planning to hold several workshops to be held in seven provinces of the Maldives to sensitize different provincial level stakeholders and raise awareness to coordinate with the national level and help reduce risk to disasters.
Objectives:
- To raise awareness on hazards and vulnerability in various provinces
- Introduction of climate change adaptation and DRR
- Introduction of standard operative procedures (SOP) at provincial level
- Shifting focus on disaster risk reduction
