The Africities 6 Summit was organized from December 4th to December 8th, 2012 in Dakar, Senegal with the theme “Building Africa starting from its territories”. Nearly 5000 participants represent all the protagonists of the African local life and their partners from other regions of the world at the Summit.
At the Summit, UNISDR organized three workshops/panels for cities and urban stakeholders on Disaster Risk Reduction and Resilient Cities on the 5 and 6 of December. These included segments to consult on the future of the global disaster risk reduction framework: the successor of the Hyogo Framework for Action after 2015.
