Driven by the theme Women and Girls: the [in]Visible Force of Resilience, International Day for Disaster Reduction (IDDR) 2012 draws attention to what women and girls are doing to reduce disasters risks in their homes, communities, and societies.

The African youth Movement marked the day in flooded communities of Nasarrawa State, Nigeria with women, girls and young people.
