"The training workshop for Local Government Authorities of Jamaica, will take place on October 22 and 23. It aims to support local Jamaican authorities in achieving the objectives of the Global Campaign of the UNDRR, "Making Cities Resilient", for the implementation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030 at the local level.

The workshop seeks to:

• Present the tools, methodologies and objectives of the: Making Resilient Cities: my city is getting ready! and support their application to the Jamaican context;
• Strengthen disaster risk reduction related capacities in the country and bring technical support to formulating disaster risk reduction plans at the local level.

Moving towards the organization of the Regional Platform for DRR in Montego Bay, in July 2020, the event highlights the commitment of the Jamaican government to disaster risk reduction, the Making Cities Resilient Campaign and Sustainable Development.
