The World Tsunami Awareness Day International Symposium was held 27 October 2016. Commemorating World Tsunami Awareness Day, the event will feature the important work that women have accomplished in DRR. This year's theme is "Towards Resilient Recovery through a Gender and Diversity Perspective".
