It is from this background that we invite you and your organization to a 5 days Intensive GIS and Remote Sensing Technology in Disaster Risk and Emergency Management Capacity Building Course on 8- 12th September 2014, in Nairobi, Kenya.

Course Goal:
Provide participants with an introduction to Geographic Information Systems and highlight key applications in the field of emergency management.

Course Format:
This interactive 5-day course features Discussions, Demonstrations and Practical Exercises computer lab activities and includes exciting group activities using ArcGIS and QGIS software.

Course Facilitator:
Samuel Nthuny is a GIS Consultant with over 10 years of practical experience in GIS, Remote Sensing, GPS and Cartography. He holds a Master’s of Science in GIS from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology in Germany and is also a continuing Doctor of Philosophy (Geomatics), University of Helsinki. He is a training specialist with over 5 years experience training for ESRI East Africa and the University of Nairobi.

Course Fees:
The registration fee for this workshop is US$ 950 which will cover all the documentation, administration and meals during the workshop.
Certificates will be issued on successful completion of the Course
