“Fund Resilience, Not Disasters” – Building Momentum for the Pacific Climate Finance Investment Forum

The Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat (PIFS) in collaboration with the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) is organising a webinar to mark the International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction (IDDRR) on 13 October 2025. Observed annually, IDDRR provides an important opportunity to amplify our regional calls and for this year the theme: ‘Fund Resilience, Not Disasters’ resonates very well with the 2050 Strategy for the Blue Pacific Continent and the Framework for Resilient Development (FRDP) emphasizing shifting investments towards long-term, sustainable and risk informed development. This webinar is organized as a precursor to the Pacific Climate Finance Investment Forum a key part of operationalizing the Climate Finance Access and Mobilisation Strategy (CFAMS) aimed at addressing the gap in climate finance for the region’s efforts to strengthen resilience of its nations, peoples and communities.
