First joint session of working groups I and II and thirty-fourth session of the IPCC

Main agenda item of the First Joint Session of Working Groups I and II will be acceptance and approval of the IPCC Special Report on "Managing the Risks of Extreme Events and Disasters to Advance Climate Change Adaptation” and its Summary for Policymakers (SPM). The Session will begin at 10:00 hours on Monday, 14 November 2011. After action by the First Joint Session of Working Groups I and II the SPM of the Special Report and the underlying assessment will be forwarded to the IPCC for its action.

The Thirty-fourth Session of the IPCC is scheduled to begin at 10:00 hours on Friday, 18 November 2011. The focus of this meeting will be on: a) the acceptance of the actions of the First Joint Session of Working Groups I and II; b) Preparation of the Fifth Assessment Report; c) Review of IPCC processes and procedures.
