The SEARP Ministerial Conference, the OECD’s Development Co-operation Directorate (DCD) is organising a Side Event on the topic of “Better Together: Enhancing Development Co-operation for a sustainable COVID-19 Recovery”.

The side event will bring together development providers from OECD countries, such as the DGs of agencies of Japan (JICA), Korea (KOICA), Australia, Germany (GIZ, KfW), France (AFD), the EU, the USA (USAID), with Southeast Asian providers (Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Viet Nam) and with Regional Development Funds, the World Bank, and the UN Office of South-South Co-operation.

Questions to guide the discussion are:

• How can we mobilise and align public and private actors to finance a sustainable Covid-19 recovery, including by using blended finance approaches?

• What capacity (including policy and technical co-operation mechanisms) is needed to allow blended finance to support the local economy and local capital markets?

• How can we partner to scale up triangular and South-South co-operation projects that involve the private sector?

• How can we advance country level coordination among providers and advance domestic reforms in Southeast Asia?
