The Economic and Social Commission of Asia Pacific (ESCAP) will organize a regional meeting of Least Developed Countries (LDCs) in the region to discuss the implementation of the Istanbul Programme of Action for the LDCs. An important area of the Instanbul Programme of Action is the reduction of vulnerabilities, including to disasters. The meeting will discuss the importance of reducing vulnerability to disasters for the LDCs to achieve sustained economic growth and social development. It will also provide inputs to the Post-2015 Development Agenda and issues of importance for the the Post-HFA from LDCs perspectives.
