1st annual disaster medicine symposium

The overall objective of this symposium is to facilitate ground-level planning for the possibility of a tornado striking a health care facility in Oklahoma. To this end, we have invited a multidisciplinary faculty with particular expertise in tornado damage, weather patterns, and disaster medicine to discuss in-depth mitigation, response, and recovery of a tornado strike. Although our discussion will focus on hospitals and hospital patients, the same principles and planning will include other health care facilities such as large clinics and nursing homes and fixed facilities such as schools and universities.
