LGBTIQ+ people in disaster risk reduction
Introduction
Disasters do not affect everyone equally. LGBTQI+ people face specific and often overlooked risks in disasters and climate crises. These risks are not inherent but shaped by inequality, discrimination, and barriers to information, services and protection.

Below, find resources on LGBTQI+ inclusion in disaster risk reduction, focusing on lived experiences, risk inequalities, and practical approaches to ensure DRR policies, planning, and response are inclusive and equitable.
Disaster preparedness, response and recovery services should be uniformly available to all, but also sensitive to the unique needs that different members of LGBTIQA+ populations have.
