It provides a snapshot of progress in achieving Target G of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030 and is also a midterm stock-take of the progress made towards Early Warnings for All since its launch in 2022.

The Secretary-General’s report on the implementation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015–2030 provides an overview of progress made toward reducing disaster risk and strengthening resilience worldwide.

This report is the third edition of the Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) Synthesis and Analysis Report, showcasing stakeholders’ contributions to implementing the Sendai Framework, as submitted and published on the SFVC online platform.

Among the seven global targets of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction, Target E stands out as a critical enabler. It calls for the substantial increase in the number of countries with national and local DRR strategies.

The present report has been prepared pursuant to the request of the General Assembly in its resolution 78/152 on disaster risk reduction.

This review makes the case that gender is such a fundamental part of the social organization in all societies, that gender inequality is a key driver of disaster risk, requiring much greater attention and more focused action and resources.

This report summarizes the learning and recommendations of an extensive review by States and stakeholders pursuing the expected outcome and goal of the Framework and thus risk-informed sustainable development.

This report builds on the first Status Report on Target E Implementation issued prior to the 2020 Target E deadline.
