Improving urban resilience in Medellín, Colombia through insurance protection for climate risks and disasters
This brief presents a project, one of the main objectives of which was to improve the urban resilience of Medellín and its capacity to respond to disasters by designing a parametric product to transfer disaster risk related to floods, landslides, and earthquakes.
The project objective was to improve the urban resilience of Medellín and its capacity to respond to disasters. The project also aimed at enhancing the capacity of the district to manage risk transfer products and foster an enabling environment for the development of climate-risk insurance in the Colombian market
