Women's business leadership in disaster risk management and climate action good practices
This document represents the role of women in leadership positions within the private sector, particularly in the Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and climate action in Central America, specifically in El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras. These efforts are represented by their respective organizations: the Fundacion para la Accion Social, FUNDEMAS; the Centro para la Accion de la Responsabilidad Social Empresarial, CENTRARSE y la Fundacion Hondure–a de Responsabilidad Social Empresarial, FUNDAHRSE, respectively.
This initiative aims to place women who have exercised leadership across different sectors on the map - women who have become benchmarks in their industries through the effective use of their knowledge, tools, and experience- while promoting resilience and sustainability in contexts that have historically presented a wide range of challenges. The concept of good practices was understood in a broad sense, including relevant cases and experiences from each country. This approach had made it possible to capture a wide diversity of initiatives, identify opportunities to further enhance the visibility of these efforts, and underscore the need for action-oriented reference points for the region.
