Chemonics International seeks program manager/training specialists in disaster risk management, emergency preparedness, and humanitarian assistance for an anticipated regional disaster preparedness and response project in the Latin America and Caribbean region. Responsibilities include: help develop annual project work plans; design, implement, and monitor training and technical assistance for a regional program; supervise short-and long-term staff; coordinate program activities with regional and national counterparts; present at regional meetings and events with regional and local counterparts and clients.
Qualifications
- Advanced degree in a relevant field or comparable international experience Minimum five years of experience in Latin America in disaster risk management, emergency preparedness, humanitarian assistance, or a related field
- Proven ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with donors and multiple local counterparts International experience with donor-funded programs in Latin America, including the SOUTHCOM Humanitarian Assistance Program, the Office of U.S. Foreign Disaster Assistance, or similar programs preferred
- Demonstrated experience in organizational capacity-building, training, or information dissemination Experience in and knowledge of the Latin America and Caribbean region Fluency in Spanish required; French and Portuguese desirable
