Earth Journalism Network (EJN)
Mission
Created in 2004, EJN is a global network of reporters and media outlets across the world. This global community of journalists report on the environment and its intersections with climate, health, human rights, politics, energy, business and technology.
EJN's mission is to strengthen local journalism that serves communities and policymakers on the frontlines of climate and environmental crises, enabling them to shape solutions, hold power to account and demand action. Since 2004, EJN has provided grants, training and mentoring to thousands of journalists - and supported many more with tipsheets, online courses and networking opportunities.
Voluntary Commitments
The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
