Mission
The New Arab, or Al-Araby Al-Jadeed in Arabic, is a fast-growing news and current affairs website bringing readers the biggest stories from the Arab world and beyond.
Launched in September 2014, the organization operates globally with journalists on the ground in over 20 countries. This enables the New Arab to release the most up-to-date and breaking news stories first hand.
Non-partisan, the organization's editorial line seeks to be independent and objective. Its diverse and extensive pool of journalists enables it to provide astute reporting and encourage positive debate on many topics, including politics, society, sports and culture.
Voluntary Commitments
The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
