Duties and Responsibilities:
S/he shall plan, manage, coordinate and monitor activities and tasks related to various sponsored projects; execute work plans, update and correct plans as necessary; monitor budget, project accounting and financial reporting; schedule project meetings and resolve follow-ups; contribute to the scientific and technical content of the projects; resolve issues and ensure progress against stated objectives and timelines; maintain communication; develop reports and other project documentation and ensure closure and resolution of outstanding issues and successful delivery of final deliverables; supervise junior staff and assume other administrative managerial responsibilities.
Qualifications:
Preferably a Doctorate in engineering, social science, environmental science, developmental studies; Minimum of twelve (12) years relevant work experience, with at least five (5) years of demonstrated project management experience in similar complex projects; experience in disaster management or closely related field is highly desirable; demonstrated organizational, problem solving and strategic planning skills; computer literate; excellent communication and presentations skills; must be a good listener and self-motivated individual, requiring little supervision and proactive in communication and in exercising judgment; must be willing to adapt to a new work environment, shifting in priorities in the work plan and work under tight deadlines; must understand and adhere to the principle of collective contribution and mutual team support, and knowledge and skills sharing; must be willing to travel overseas for fairly long durations.
