Analysis of legislation related to disaster risk reduction in Brazil

This case study examines Brazil’s legal framework for reducing disaster risks. It notes that Brazil’s main disaster management law is still centred on response and civil defense structures. However, important sectoral laws, such as the Statute of the City, could serve as important models for other countries.
