Northern Australia insurance premiums taskforce: final report

This report presents the results of a study carried by the Northern Australia Insurance Premiums Taskforce which was established as part of the response to the rapid rise in insurance premiums in areas of northern Australia subject to cyclone risk. It considers the feasibility of options to lower insurance premiums in areas subject to high cyclone risk and makes policy recommendations. The report presents a number of options, recognising that they achieve different objectives and have distinctly different benefits, costs and risks.
