Jamaica: Disaster Risk Management (Amendment) Act, 2021
The Disaster Risk Management (DRM) Act of 2021 amends Jamaica's earlier DRM law adopted in 2015. The law is intended to adequately implement and address measures to combat various calamitous events, including a pandemic; and for connected matters.
The National Disaster Risk management Act 2015 guides all Parish and Community Disaster Plans. The 2021 amendments to the act were mainly focused as a result of SARS- COVID-19 (Coronavirus) and the resulting COVID-19 Pandemic.
