Anticipatory action readiness index
The Anticipatory Action Readiness Index is a measurement tool used to capture National Societies' progress in building institutional capacity for anticipatory action. Developed by the American Red Cross International Services Department, this first-of-its-kind tool helps National Societies baseline their current capacity and track it over time.
The Index covers three categories - forecasting, financing, and early action implementation - and includes 22 criteria scored on a three-level scale (1-3), where 1 indicates no/low capacity and 3 indicates high/comprehensive capacity. The index thus gives a final total level score.
