The Armenian Red Cross Society (ARCS) is a non-profit organization, established based on common interests of its’ members, the only national company in the territory of the Republic of Armenia, which does not pursue any religious, political goals, not affiliated with any political stream, which carries out its activities throughout the country. ARCS mission is to reduce the vulnerability of the population through mobilization of the power of humanity, to get prepared to confront situations, where the population can be vulnerable, as well as providing necessary assistance, helping people in difficult socio-economic conditions.
DR goal is to reduce the vulnerability of the population towards natural and man-made disasters through disaster risk reduction on a community level and strengthening Disaster Preparedness and Response structure of the ARCS.

Promoting Family Disaster Plan module through schools to families, developing of Disaster Preparedness and Mitigation Plan of Action for rural communities. Supporting establishment of “Armenian Climate Forum” Climate Change National Platform, to make CC policy a priority agenda and integrate it with DRR.
Initiating formation of Community based Disaster Response Teams, trained and properly equipped within frameworks of ARCS Projects.
The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
