Oromia Pastoral Area Development Commission (OPADC), is a National Regional State’s institution that coordinates all developmental endevours which relates to pastoral communities in and around Pastoral areas of Oromia National State, Ethiopia.
Tasked with coordinating developmental activities of region’s sectors, all other development partners and direct participations, Oromia Pastoral Area Development Commission (OPADC) is also responsible for putting in place extension services around pastoral areas. Besides, the commission is structured to enable the following undertakings in Oromia’s Pastoral Areas. These include;
- Development, conservations and protection of grazing-land and Natural Resources,
- Development, conservations and Protection of Livestock Resources,
- Market Development,
- Dry-land Farming Development,
- Rendering Social Services and
- Pastoral Communities’ Development Projects amongothers.
The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
