Workshop on the launch activities of the National Platform (NFPs) for Disaster Prevention and Risk Reduction in Gabon

The Gabonese government has issued a decree on the creation of the Gabon platform for prevention and disaster risk reduction. The workshop is not only the inaugural event of the platform, but more importantly an opportunity for stakeholders to reflect on their business plan, and be built on the existing sub-regional, regional international instruments and tools on disaster risk reduction. The UNISDR and the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS) will bring their support for its implementation.

This event has been postponed from the 19-21 July 2011. It will now take place from 25-27 July 2011.
