The Useful Science Initiative - inaugural workshop
The Useful Science Initiative is a new non-profit organization that will help natural hazards scientists to rewrite their research in formats that non-expert stakeholders can understand and make use of.
Stakeholders, scientists, policy makers, and representatives from funding bodies are all invited to join our inaugural workshop at the University of Oxford on December 9th, 2013; people who cannot be there on the day are encouraged to register as non-attending delegates.
All delegates will be sent a pre-workshop pack detailing our vision for the USI. We will ask for your thoughts: what you think will work, and what you think should be changed. We will address all your comments, either before or during the event.
Useful Science Initiative, an organization that will rewrite natural hazards science for DRR workers (and other stakeholders), publications will be suitable for anyone with a high school education, not just for scientists. The inaugural USI workshop aims to help use science to make more informed decisions.
The workshop is free to attend, but registration is essential.
