In order to support countries, UN system and stakeholders to prepare for the formal session on 29-30 September, and its preceding informal session on 28 September, two technical panel briefings will be organized in Geneva and open to all countries and other stakeholders. These are not meetings of the Working Group.


The disaster risk reduction terminology briefing will provide an opportunity to learn about the complexity and challenges of developing terminology and its application in various disciplines. It will also provide an update on the consultative process to update the "2009 UNISDR Terminology on Disaster Risk Reduction" led by its Scientific and Advisory Group.


Information on badges for the briefing:


Participants attending the Technical Briefings on Terminology must pass through security at the entrance of the United Nations Pregny Gate.

Participants holding a valid UN Badge for Geneva are not required to collect a badge.

UN officials and staff coming from other duty stations are required to present a valid form of national identification and fill out a Badge Conference Registration Form at the gate.

All other participants are required to present a valid form of national identification and will be provided a badge for the duration of the meeting. If a delegation or person requires a badge, please send an email to unisdrmeetings@un.org including first name, last name, and affiliation; deadline 3 September 12 noon.
