Please join Mr. Richard S. Mroz for a discussion on “Pursuit of Resilience for Critical Infrastructure” . The event will provide an overview on Resilience in Electric and Energy sector. The Guest Speaker, Mr. Mroz regularly advises clients on Cybersecurity, critical infrastructure protection, and resilience measures and particularly related to the investments and cost recovery for those initiatives Mr. Mroz is a member of the Resilience Task Force for the Natioinal Association of Regulatory Utilty Commissioners which is crafting best practices for resilience in the utility sector. He is also a member of the USDOE Electric Advisory Committee (EAC) and which focuses on issues around the evolving grid, distributed energy resources, and reliability and resilience of the electric system, and defense critical infrastructure. He will share the opinions on the challenges to making resilience investments, need for consequence- based evaluations, and new approaches to using assessment tools and metrics. GRI recently published a white paper authored by Mr. Mroz on these issues In Pursuit of Resilience for Critical Infrastructure.

About Richard S. Mroz

Richard S. Mroz, Founding Member and Managing Director of Resolute Strategies, LLC and Senior Director of Archer Public Affairs in Trenton, NJ and Washington, DC. He is also Senior Adviser to Protect Our Power, a national non-industry non-profit advocacy organization supporting best practices and investmentsin cybersecurity and resilience measures for the energy, utility, and critical infrastructure industries.

Mr. Mroz is the immediate past President of the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (NJBPU) serving as chairman and chief administrative officer of the agency and functioned as the chief energy officer for New Jersey. He was Chairman of the Critical Infrastructure Committee for the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC) and led efforts addressing cybersecurity protection, workforce development, and infrastructure improvements in the electric, gas, water and telecommunications industries.

Mr. Mroz was Chief Counsel to New Jersey Governor Christine Todd Whitman. He has served as a Commissioner of the Delaware River & Bay Authority. Of particular note is that President George W. Bush appointed Mr. Mroz to the Commission on White House Fellows in 2007.

Mr. Mroz is a graduate of the University of Delaware and holds a J.D. from the Villanova School of Law.
