Aim:
To provide project and programme officers, managers, grant writers, and country directors with skills, concepts and guidelines to develop selling proposals, resource mobilization and funds management.

Focus on CMDRR practitioners

Objectives:

  • By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
  • Understand and apply various forms of resource mobilization and grants management techniques.
  • Be acquainted with the types of proposals that sell to various donors.
  • Understand and apply effective grants management techniques.
  • Develop eye catching concepts.
  • Produce grants summaries according to various donors (EU, USAID, WB etc).
  • Apply techniques of report dissemination

Topics:

  • Overview of the project cycle and Project Cycle Management.
  • Basic concepts in fundraising and grants reporting.
  • Proposal (resource mobilization) marketing techniques
  • Concepts of budgeting, monitoring, evaluation of projects.
  • The Log-frame, and its link to fundraising and grants management
  • Grants reporting requirements EU, USAID, UN, and others.
  • Case study

Method:

Experiential learning, action - oriented learning, creativity and participatory approaches will be emphasized throughout the course to help and encourage active participation, share practical experiences and practice real issues within the organizations in a fun way.
