International disaster training/education workshop

“International Workshop on Disaster Education/Training” will be organised on 23-24 November 2009 at Antalya by AFEM to establish a standard for disaster education and to define the education techniques for different targets. The sessions of workshop:

1. Disaster education on schools
2. Disaster Education for vulnerability targets
3. Disaster education for experts and adults

Objectives of workshop are:

• How we can evaluate gender sensitivity of disaster education?
• How can we rise the awareness of women and children through education?
• How should we prepare effective and efficient educational materials?
• What types of education are the most suitable for different targets?
• How can we evaluate the media on disaster education?
• How to promote and advance activities in the areas of disaster risk reduction in school communities and safe schools initiatives?
