The next Europe and Central Asia Regional Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction (RP2027) will take place 25–27 May 2027 in Bucharest, Romania, hosted by the Government of Romania. The Platform is supported by the Regional Platform Secretariat: the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR), the European Commission and the Council of Europe.

The Regional Platform is the region’s primary forum for disaster risk reduction, bringing together governments, development partners, international and regional organisations, civil society, academia, and the private sector. It provides a space to:

  • Review progress on the implementation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015–2030
  • Exchange experiences and good practices
  • Strengthen cooperation across Europe and Central Asia

The 2027 edition will serve as a key milestone ahead of 2030, marking the final regional gathering before the conclusion of both the Sendai Framework and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. It will provide an important opportunity to advance the disaster risk reduction agenda and address critical regional priorities, including:

  • Risk information and communication, including tackling mis- and disinformation
  • Locally led disaster risk reduction, strengthening national–local linkages
  • Data for DRR, including loss and damage assessment and accountability

A consultation process will be launched in September 2026 to help shape the agenda and ensure it reflects your priorities and expertise. We encourage you to mark your calendars.

Further information on the programme, registration, and logistical arrangements will be shared in due course.
