Strengthening Local Governance for Anticipatory Action in District Gwadar and Lasbela:
The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), in partnership with the World Food Programme (WFP), Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Balochistan, District Disaster Management Authorities (DDMAs), and Lasbela University of Agriculture, Water and Marine Sciences (LUAWMS), will conduct a three-day District-Level Training on Anticipatory Action from 28–30 January 2026 for officials and stakeholders from Lasbela and Gwadar districts. The initiative aims to enhance local governance and institutional capacities for disaster risk reduction (DRR) through anticipatory action, focusing on early warning systems, trigger development, preparedness planning, simulations, and community engagement for climate-related hazards, including floods, cyclones, heatwaves, and droughts.
