Consultation on the Future of the Women’s International Network on Disaster Risk Reduction (WIN DRR)
United Nations Conference Centre, Conference Room 3
This side event during the ESCAP Disaster Resilience Week provides an opportunity for consultation aiming to chart the future direction of the Women’s International Network on Disaster Risk Reduction (WIN DRR) in alignment with the Sendai Gender Action Plan, ensuring the network contributes strategically to advancing the goals of the Sendai Framework while sustaining and amplifying the visibility, leadership, and impact of women in disaster risk reduction. The discussion will also deepen the connection between women’s leadership and gender-transformative resilience, which means building systems that actively recognize and support the diverse roles, knowledge, and leadership of women and marginalized groups in disaster risk reduction.
WIN DRR is a professional network. It promotes and supports women's leadership in DRR across the Asia-Pacific region and aims to reduce the barriers faced by women and empower them to attain leadership and enhance their decision-making in DRR and resilience building. WIN DRR is supported by UNDRR and the Government of Australia.
