Community conversation #13: Recording and cataloguing hazards and their impacts
Time
3:00 PM GMT+02:00 - 5:00 PM GMT+02:00
This event will take place in English and Spanish with simultaneous interpretation.
Since the adoption of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction (2015-2030), recording and cataloguing natural hazards has become a concrete action for contributing to ‘Priority 1: Understanding disaster risk’. Increasing capacities for the collection, analysis, management and use of meteorological event data is essential to build baselines for assessing risk, vulnerability, capacities and exposure.
A broad and diverse panel of leading international experts will share challenges, lessons learned and perspectives on methodologies for recording and cataloguing natural hazards and their socio-environmental impacts. Through this initiative, the Anticipation Hub Future Leaders Network on Early Warning Early Action aims to contribute specific knowledge on anticipatory action and disseminate results achieved through collaborations between governments, academia and the humanitarian sector to strengthen strategic partnerships.
