Building safety month 2010
During 2010, the International Code Council (ICC) and International Code Council Foundation (ICCF) will expand Building Safety Week into a month-long Building Safety Month campaign to expand opportunities and increase awareness about the critical importance of building and designing safe, sustainable and green structures in the United States and worldwide. As part of this expanded effort to generate awareness about the progress made during the past 30 years, Building Safety Month will showcase historic milestones, current technologies and future innovations in building and fire codes as well as construction and safety technologies.
Taking a look at the past, present and future will be a catalyst for communicating the critical role of building and fire codes in maintaining safe and sustainable environments. Moreover, Building Safety Month will demonstrate the leadership role that code officials play in protecting families and individuals who live, work and play in buildings around the globe.
