South Asia faces significant vulnerability to climate change, with frequent disasters such as floods, cyclones, and droughts threatening communities which are already grappling with economic and social challenges. there is currently a mismatch between the clear needs at national or local level and existing funding sources, which are often challenging to access due to complex procedures, capacity gaps, and administrative constraints. This webinar explores how access to funding—particularly for addressing loss and damage—can be enhanced through more inclusive and equitable mechanisms.
This webinar will bring together diverse stakeholders—including government officials, financial institutions, researchers, and civil society representatives—to discuss ways to enhance access to climate funds for addressing loss and damage.
Objectives
The webinar will provide a forum for identifying challenges, discussing possible solutions, and exchanging learnings and best practices on access to climate finance and funding for responding to loss and damage in South Asia.
