Scope
Disaster risks are escalating globally due to factors like global warming and pandemics such as COVID-19. Scientists, decision-makers, practitioners, and communities acknowledge the complexity and unpredictability of disasters, making disaster risk reduction efforts increasingly crucial. The role of information technology (IT) in mitigating disaster risks is more critical than ever, providing essential information and enhancing situational awareness during crises. Modern communication technologies aid in decision-making for disaster risk reduction. Multidisciplinary efforts involving diverse backgrounds are essential for effective disaster risk reduction, with extensive scientific research supporting these initiatives at global and national levels.
The 9th IFIP WG5.15 Conference on Information Technology in Disaster Risk Reduction (ITDRR2024) provides an international forum for researchers and practitioners to present their latest R&D findings and innovations. The conference primarily focuses on IT aspects, emerging technologies, and coping with disaster risk reduction challenges.

- Extended Submission deadline (full papers and posters): 14th of July, 2024.
- Notification of Acceptance: 19th of August 202
- Early-bird Registration: 31st of July to 31st of August 2024
- Regular Registration: 1st of September 2024

Submission details
All papers must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference. The following paper categories are welcome:
- Full papers of total length 10 - 16 pages according to IFIP AICT Guidelines (including tables, figures, and references).
- Posters (abstract within Easychair; 2 pages; the poster will not be part of the proceedings)
The submission is handled via the Easychair system
Paper publication
ITDRR-2024 proceedings with all accepted papers will be published in the IFIP AICT series by Springer as post-conference proceedings, and they will be indexed by Scopus.
